St. Maur’s Mara label is named in honour of Mara Panizzutti, the family’s matriarch. Mara guided the family through all the challenges that agriculture and business bring. She was steadfast in her support.
A very limited release of the Mara label is bottled only when the quality of the vintage is as exceptional as Mara was – a special blend of her strong, distinctive character with a soft and gentle heart.
The range was launched in 2022 with St Maur’s inaugural Limited Release 2018 Mara Pinot Noir.
Mara 2018 Pinot Noir (Limited Release)
The grapes for Mara are sourced from the oldest vines on our cool climate Estate and the wine was matured in French oak barrels for 19 months. An exceptional wine, it opens with a nose of dark cherries and earthiness, developing to sweet strawberry fruit. The well-structured palate shows full bodied fruit and elegant tannins on the finish. Drink now or cellar through to 2033.
